Dan Zitta - a banker, never figured artwork acquisition as a part of his career Ñ but do not tell that to the students, faculty and staff who are enjoying a new Terrence Karpowicz sculpture on the Belleville Campus.
Zitta, a 79 Southwestern Illinois College graduate, secured a $ 25, 000 gift from his employer, NationsBank, to commission the sculpture.Zitta is one of the bank's vice presidents and is in charge of the bank's Belleville office.

Dan, who grew up in Highland, started his higher education at Southwestern Illinois College because it was close to home. He earned an associate's degree with an emphasis in accounting and then transferred to Eastern Illinois University to complete his bachelor's degree, in business administration in 1981, with honors.
He received his CPA license shortly after graduation, worked in accounting and then moved to a banking career with emphasis in commercial lending.
