Nine organizations in Western New York are listed as "partners," including the Town of Wales, through Deanna Zeigel, president of the Wales Historical Society.

Zeigel said she has videotaped close to 40 interviews.Her grandfather served in World War I, her father in World War II and her uncle in the Korean War.

"I think anyone who puts on that uniform deserves all the respect in the world," she said.

Wales Town Historian Deanna Zeigel has undertaken a monumental project to record the video and audio histories of as many veterans in the Elma, Marilla and Wales area as possible.

The board commended Deanna Zeigel for her induction into the Erie County Fair Hall of Fame.She received the honor for her dedication as coordinator of the Historical Building and for her work on the Erie County Fair book , Reflections of America's County Fair..

Zeigel is president of the Wales Historical Society and has served as town historian since 1997.

This year , the Wales Historical Society won Best of Show at the fair for its display on rural living.

The town received a $3 , 030 records management grant from the state that will be used to buy a computer and to hire someone to record births , deaths and marriages in the town.
