Danny Zehavi

Members, ranging in age from 22 to their late 60s, go hiking, biking, canoeing, camping and even stargazing, says club president Danny Zehavi, an avid cyclist and camper who once hiked down the Grand Canyon in the middle of winter.

While the club does provide a social setting for Jews to meet, it's primarily geared to adults who love the outdoors, says Zehavi, a 31-year-old engineer who lives in Waterloo.

Danny Zehavi, born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is the founder and President of Ascent Experiences.Danny is an avid outdoors enthusiast and trip leader whose exploits have led him to numerous Provincial, State and National Parks in Canada, the U.S.A., Israel, Romania and India.

Danny is the founder of the Mosaic Jewish Outdoors Club of Southern Ontario.An avid hiker, camper, road and mountain biker as well as canoeist, he has led numerous adventure trips and has participated in many mountain bike races, ROGAINES, and the Raid of the North Adventure Race.

Danny's interest in Jewish wisdom was piqued when he was first exposed to what Judaism had to say about love, dating, marriage, parenting and general interactions among human beings.

Danny is married and has four kids (two step-kids and two of his own).

Danny has lived in Waterloo ON, Ottawa ON, Barrie ON, and now resides in Toronto, ON.When not outdoors, Danny is a Professional Engineer who works as a Quality System Management Consultant.
