   Carole Zavala, Interim Executive Director, launched the first honorary international branch of Girls Inc. ® of Orange County at Sias University in Zhengzou, Henan Province in China in May. She was visiting her Chinese pen pal, Connie Chen, a graduating senior at Sias University, during the homecoming celebrations held on campus of the first Chinese-American University in China. Connie is proud to be an honorary Girls Incorporated member, and loved the Girls Inc. bag that Carole brought to her.

   Carole Zavala, director of Girls Inc. of Orange County, was among those who received the free guided imagery CD. Zavala, 63, of Laguna Beach, has used it for many years to combat migraines. She listened to the CD during the week leading to her hip-replacement surgery last year.
   
   When the instructions called for her to envision a positive image, she didn't have to travel far. "I thought about a good place where I have had good feelings, and that's the beach, being by the ocean," Zavala said.
