Mr Bob ZaneChairmanThe United States Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel
Mr Bob Zane is Chairman of the United States Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel (USA ITA), an industry wide association of manufacturers and retailers that champions the rights of importers.
Mr Zane recently retired from Liz Claiborne where, from 1995 through 2006, he was Senior Vice President for Sourcing, Manufacturing, Distribution and Logistics.During his tenure at Liz the company expanded from just over $2.0 billion in annual volume to over $5.0 billion, while the number of divisions grew from 4 to 40.
Mr Zane has been involved in apparel industry supply chain activities all his working life, a total of some 44 years, including a 10 year period when he lived abroad.
Mr Zane is a member of the Board of Advisors of Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where he is a frequent guest lecturer on apparel industry trade practices.He was also a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Fair Labour Association (FLA), an organisation devoted to workers rights.
A native New Yorker, Mr Zane was educated at Brooklyn College and Fashion Institute of Technology.He currently resides in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Mr Zane frequently undertakes consulting assignments for manufacturers, retailers and financial analysts, specialising in strategic sourcing issues.
