The Data Privacy Ordinance became law in December and will be the subject of HKTUG's March lunch meeting when our guest speaker will be Corinna Yu, solicitor with Denton Hall.
Corinna has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge, where she read both Biochemistry and Law.She completed her legal training with a City firm in London and, after qualification, was heavily involved in the setting up of the Hong Kong branch office for the same City firm.She joined Denton Hall's Telecommunications and Media Group in 1996.Corinna is admitted in both England and Hong Kong and speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
In her luncheon address, topics Corinna will discuss include: aims of the ordinance; scope of the ordinance; the Six Data Protection Principles; data access and correction requests; and consequences of non-compliance.
