Colorado Springs, Colo. - Connie Yu, a recent graduate at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, Texas, has been selected as The Walt Disney Company Foundation 2005 Scholarship recipient.A participant in JA Economics, JA Titan, and JA Job Shadow, Miss Yu was the district president for the FBLA program in three school districts in the Houston area and vice president of the Asian Heritage Club.Miss Yu graduated at the top of her class in academics while participating in the National Honor Society, speech and debate, Mu Alpha Theta, and the University Interscholastic League.She plans to major in economics and work towards a master's degree in business administration at Stanford University beginning this fall.

Miss Yu was chosen by a scholarship selection committee comprised of leading educators, business professionals, and members of the board of directors of JA Worldwide.The recipient is selected based on a variety of requirements, including scholastic ability, participation in JA programs, and extracurricular activities.

This is the 26th year that The Walt Disney Company Foundation has provided the scholarship, which awards full tuition for four years of undergraduate studies at any accredited college or university in either business administration or fine arts and $200 per year to cover fees.
