When the shooting first happened, Pace said he wasn't angry at Jackson and understood he was just doing his job.He said he was just thankful he would be able to continue his work at Riverview Southern Baptist Church.
Abercrombie was found in the 500 block of Washington Street seven hours after the shooting.He surrendered without incident.
Abercrombie declined an interview request Monday.He is being held on felony charges of assault with a gun on a peace officer, exhibiting a gun to resist arrest, resisting an officer and being a felon in possession of a gun, according to the Kern County Superior Court Web site.
A pre-preliminary hearing for Abercrombie is scheduled for May 18.
