Anita Young

President: Anita Young

Anita Young serves as vice president , field distribution for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.In this role, she supports the SVP , Field Distribution in integrating and coordinating intra-department initiatives . She also manages the development and distribution of regional office support functions, contracting for resources inside and outside of Thrivent and manages relationships with internal service providers

Young was born in Tyler, Minn. and graduated from Tyler High School in 1973.She went on to earn Bachelor of Arts degrees in music and accounting from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn. In 1993, Young graduated from the University of Minnesota's Minnesota Executive Program.

Young joined AAL/LB in 1981 as a staff accountant.Her responsibilities steadily increased over the years.Among several others, Young was appointed assistant vice president,insurance accounting in 1987 and vice president and treasurer in 1993.Her most recent position, held 1999-2001, before her current role, was vice president,assistant to the president.

Young began her career at Gelco in 1977 as a staff accountant.She also worked at Mankato State University, 1979-1981, as an accounting officer in the business office.

Anita has served as Council President for two years.She became a part of the Peace music team when she joined in 1983.Anita's favorite part about working at Peace is the collaborative spirit.She feels there is energy to grow here , to do more, to reach out more, to give more.Peace is not a static place, trying to preserve the past.Peace is squarely focused on creating the future.

Anita is a graduate of Tyler High School in Tyler, Minnesota.She has B.A.s in Music and Accounting from Gustavus Adolphus College.She has worked at Lutheran Brotherhood/Thrivent Financial from 1981 to the present.Her current position at Thrivent is Vice President and Field Liaison.

Anita is married to her husband Jon and they have two dogs , Pelle and Lasse, and one cat , Cody.
