To obtain a work permit, contact Angie Young, guidance counselor at (217)795-4822 ext.1113 or via email at ayoung@argenta-oreana.org.Remember that a call will be made FIRST to verify that the student has been employed before the work permit can be completed.Final transcriptsCongratulations to the graduating seniors!Many are preparing for orientations at colleges this summer.Mrs. Young will be preparing final transcripts and immunization records to mail to colleges as long as the senior filled out a senior exit questionnaire directing their transcript to be sent.If there is a change in where the transcript should be sent, or if the student would like an additional final transcript to be sent to another school, please contact Mrs. Young.Final transcripts will be sent AFTER the final posting of grades, usually the first week in June.

Mrs. Young has been working with current high school students to prepare class schedules for the 2008-2009 school year.The master high school schedule was designed based on the original course requests that students made in January-February.Changes to schedules will be made for students who 1) fail a course and need to retake it; 2) students whose summer coursework makes a schedule change necessary; 3) those who fail a required class for graduation and are no longer eligible to attend the Decatur Area Technical Academy.The counselor may make changes to the students' schedules during the summer in an attempt to balance class sizes.Students may not change schedules simply to join friends in a different section of the class, or to take a class at a preferred time of day.If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Young

Seniors who plan to go to Richland next fall: You can go with Mrs. Young to Richland's campus on Wednesday, May 2nd at 12:30 for Orientation and Registration for classes, but you MUST take your placement tests in order to go.If you need information about placement testing, see Mrs. Young.
