    Allen Young, Project Director

    Allen has held a number of executive positions including that of Managing Director and Operations Director with an International Forest Products company. Allen began his industrial career in 1971 with Courtalds. In 1975 he was seconded to their Southern African Operations. Allen remained with the group until 1990 when Courtauld sold their Southern African operations to Sappi, the worlds largest producer of coated wood free paper and dissolving pulp. Allen continued his career with Sappi until 2005 when he returned home to North East Lincolnshire.

    In a personal capacity, Allen has been involved with many community and charity projects in Southern Africa. In 2004 Allen became the first British Citizen to be appointed an Officer of the Crown by H.M King Mswati for his contribution to the Swaziland Community spanning 30 years.

    General Manager of Sappi Kraft , Allen Young , said in his speech that with the growing problem of AIDS in the area , many people would need 'Care' in the near future.

    He praised The Brotherhood of Blessed Gérard for their achievements and for their ideal of 'Helping people to help themselves' - even in the primary health care field.
