Al Young focuses his practice on Federal and State taxation, estate planning, probate, business law, employee benefits and real estate. He advises all forms of closely held businesses, particularly limited liability companies, as well as high net worth individuals.

Al is a native Milwaukeean. He is a graduate of Marquette University High School, Marquette University and Marquette University Law School. While at Marquette University, Al earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both Accounting and Economics and was named a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.

In addition to being a lawyer, Al is a certified public accountant. Prior to joining Fox, O’Neill & Shannon, S.C. in 1986, Al spent six years in the Tax Department of the Milwaukee office of Arthur Andersen & Co. and enjoyed a short term assignment to the firm’s Toronto office.

Having practiced as a CPA has proven to be an important asset in Al’s practice.

"With my accounting background, I’m able to provide my clients with a unique perspective," Young says. "I offer a more holistic approach in determining the best course of action for a client, because my focus is as much on understanding the impact of a legal matter on a client’s operations and bottom line as it is on the law."

Al has been involved with a variety of professional organizations over the course of his career, including the Wisconsin Bar Association Taxation Section (Current Member of the Board of Directors), the Milwaukee Bar Association Taxation Section (Former Chair) and the WICPA State Taxation Committee. He is licensed to practice before all Wisconsin state and federal courts, as well as the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Al is married to Susan, a native of Davenport, Iowa. They have two children, Emily (1992) and Michael (1995).

In his spare time, Al is active in his church and enjoys golf, baseball, travel and helping out with his children’s extra-curricular activities.
