  The Elouera Recycling, Business Service is a division of the Elouera Association based in Cootamundra and this position reports to the Employment and Training Supervisor at the Recycling Depot in Young and receives support from other staff such as the Chief Executive Officer, Manager Operations and Human Resources Officer when required.

  With the recent issues facing the Bellhaven School in Young we have been asked a number of times by the media and some parents if the Elouera Special School can take students from Young. We felt it important to answer these questions.
  
  It must however be said up front that we hope that a solution can be found to keep services open in Young as it is always a bad thing to see a reduction in services for people with a disability in our region.
  
  Can Elouera Take on Students from Young
  
  The answer to this is a simple yes, The Elouera Special School has been advertising on Prime TV including in Young for some time that we have vacancies at our School. Nothing has changed as a result of the problems faced by Bellhaven.
  
  We currently have two students from Young attending the school and we are happy to discuss with parents the needs of any student with a disability. Parents have choices that they alone can make, be that sending their child to a Government or non government mainstream school or a special school, that choice remains today for the people in Young, Temora, Harden, Junee and of course Cootamundra.
  
  Can I Visit the School
  
  Certainly, all parents of prospective students are encouraged to visit our School, see what we do and view our facilities. Parents need to know as much as they can about choices available and we are keen to ensure you can make this choice confidently. Just call our School Principal Annette Field on 02 6942 2064 in School Term periods or the Chief Executive Officer Allan Young on 02 6942 6586 in School Holidays.

  Young has been the exception to this as there is a Special School in Young so applications have been knocked back. For this reason we run a bus daily from Young to Cootamundra.

  Elouera Chief Executive Officer Allan Young said the concept of the coin section of the laundry was designed to supplement the service's income and to help pay the rent of the building but it had exceeded expectation.
  
  It is this part of the business that Mr Young is hoping to move into new premises in the Cohen's Corner complex.
  
  "The revenue from the coin section covers more than the rent of the building it also covers the wages of those employed, which has allowed us to expand the service," Mr Young said.
  
  The Laundry, which employs up to eight people with a disability and one staff member, also provides laundry services to a number of local hotels and motels as well as sporting teams.
  
  Mr Young said that before the laundry was established the majority of the service to motels, hotels and sporting teams was done out of town.
  
  Mr Young said it will take a while to finalise the purchase in the Cohen's Corner complex, however it is hoped that the renovations and relocation will be completed by the end of the year.

  Elouera's general manager, Allan Young, said in a letter to Council his organisation was able to offer such a service on a fortnightly basis, using new equipment such as side-lift recycling trucks.

  We are commencing a daily bus run from Young to Cootamundra for the School in term 4 as we now have two students coming from the town to our school and Taxi services are not available. .
