  Allan Young is founder of Rockdale Station, a stealth-mode startup addressing the Search Engine Optimization/Search Engine Marketing industry. He has a background in software startups, venture capital, and private equity.
  
  Previously, he was VP of Business Development at mediaFORGE, a venture-backed startup that pioneered widget-serving display advertising technology. Prior to that, he worked at Sorenson Capital, a private equity firm engaged in leveraged buyouts of manufacturing companies.
  
  As an undergrad, he was one of the early team that launched the University Venture Fund where he sourced the firm's investment in Omniture, a startup that subsequently went public and is the leader in web analytics. Other venture capital investments include Infinera and Socialtext. Allan studied economics and political science at BYU and was a Fellow at Harvard Law School's Civil Rights Project. He also served as a basic infantryman in the United States Marine Corps.

  A friend of mine Allan Young, who was a cofounder of the University Venture Fund says "I think good entrepreneurs are going that way. put as little personal money in as possible. no middle ground basically, bootstrap or raise "hella" money so you can staff up and market big - the middle ground is dangerous because you give up too much anyway and you don't really get enough resources to go to war with…bootstrapping instills a lot of discipline that most guys aren't cut out for."
