Board president A. Marie Young, of Vallejo, met with Interim Superintendent/President Lisa Waits on Monday and told her the governing board wanted her to step down, according to a letter Waits wrote that was obtained by the Times-Herald, Vallejo.

But two board members agreed Thursday that while trustees directed Young to talk to Waits, they did not ask her to seek Waits' resignation.
