A graduate in law from the prestigious Nagoya University, Yasuhiko Yokoi has had a very illustrious career with Toyota Motor Corporation, ever since he joined it in 1977.
His astute market strategies have resulted in many innovations for the benefit of the brand.
From 1991 onwards, Yokoi was the senior executive coordinator for sales planning headquartered at Australia.
Within six years, he rose to vice-president, sales and marketing, at Toyota Europe office and worked tirelessly to enhance the group's sales and marketing operations.
His pioneering approach enabled Toyota Europe to gain a sizeable market share, quickly.
In January 2001, Yokoi saw action as the general manager of the operations department at TMC's overseas planning division.
Within two years, he grew to be the project general manager in the domestic sales planning division.
Three months later, he received the distinction of being the first general manager of the Lexus domestic sales and marketing division, a key figure in the launch of the Lexus in Japan.
Since last June, as the managing officer of Toyota Motor Corporation, Yokoi continues to play a vital, central role in steering the organisation to even greater successes with characteristic leadership and vision.
