    A graduate in law from the prestigious Nagoya University, Yasuhiko Yokoi has had a very illustrious career with Toyota Motor Corporation, ever since he joined it in 1977.

    His astute market strategies have resulted in many innovations for the benefit of the brand.

    From 1991 onwards, Yokoi was the senior executive coordinator for sales planning headquartered at Australia.

    Within six years, he rose to vice-president, sales and marketing, at Toyota Europe office and worked tirelessly to enhance the group's sales and marketing operations.

    In January 2001, Yokoi saw action as the general manager of the operations department at TMC's overseas planning division.

    Within two years, he grew to be the project general manager in the domestic sales planning division.

    Three months later, he received the distinction of being the first general manager of the Lexus domestic sales and marketing division, a key figure in the launch of the Lexus in Japan.

    Since last June, as the managing officer of Toyota Motor Corporation, Yokoi continues to play a vital, central role in steering the organisation to even greater successes with characteristic leadership and vision.

    A visit by a senior official like Yokoi underlines the significance Toyota Motor Corporation attaches to Oman.His visit is aimed at further strengthening Toyota's bond with its customers in Oman, and also to get a first-hand feel of the rapidly growing Oman market.

    Yasuhiko Yokoi graduated in law from Nagoya University in 1977, and joined Toyota Motor Corporation shortly thereafter.His clear grasp of marketing strategies and sales operations has enabled him to make important contributions to the launch and promotion of several Toyota models.

    From 1991, Yokoi spent three years as a senior executive coordinator for sales planning at Toyota Motor Corporation Australia Ltd.As vice-president in charge of sales and marketing at Toyota Motor Marketing, Europe NV/SA from 1997-2000, he worked to upgrade and localise the marketing system and sales operations, and oversaw a successful programme to achieve a 5 per cent share of the European market.

    His vast international experience soon earned him the position of general manager of the operations department at TMC's Overseas Planning Division in January 2001.Two years later, Yokoi became the project general manager in the domestic sales planning division and was appointed three months later as the first general manager of the Lexus domestic sales and marketing division, where he was a key figure in the launch of the Lexus brand in Japan.In June 2006 he was elevated to the position of managing officer of Toyota Motor Corporation.
