Dr Yogesan is Foundation Chair and Professor in e-Medicine and the Managing Director of the Centre of Excellence in e-Medicine in Australia. This is the only such Centre of Excellence in Asia and Pacific Region established in collaboration with the Government, Edith Cowan University and University of Western Australia. Professor Yogesan is also a Senior Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council in Australia.
He has published over 85 peer-reviewed research papers in the field, and has been awarded more than $20 million in funding from various sources. He has strong record in translation of research findings into clinical practice. Dr Yogesan has obtained 6 patents in the fields of ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dentistry and dermatology, which attest to his multidisciplinary expertise. He has developed "unique" low-cost, easy-to-operate miniaturised diagnostic devices, online clinical training programs and diagnostic systems. Some of these technologies have rolled out to clinicians. Professor Yogesan is a world-leading medical-informatics specialist. Professor Yogesan is the Director of the Centre for E-Medicine based at LEI and a Professor at the Centre for Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in the University of Western Australia.
