Mike Yoell, who was involved in an alleged sexual harassment incident last year, has been demoted to sergeant.
Officials confirmed Yoell was demoted for failing to supervise officers working for him in the Special Victims Unit and for violating department policies in regard to alleged inappropriate comments.
A 27-year-old civilian domestic violence advocate alleged she was subjected to verbal and physical harassment in the unit.

In his career, Yoell has arrested dozens of murder suspects and hundreds of robbers, narcotics dealers and other suspects.
As commander of the Special Victims Unit, he played a key role in the establishment of the county Family Justice Center.He also co-founded the Community, Clergy and Recovery Effort project, which helps recovering alcoholics and addicts.
He has also been involved in the fatal shooting of an armed man, whose family won a settlement from the city; and an excessive force case involving a recreation center director, who also won a settlement from the city.
Another excessive force lawsuit filed by a teenager who alleged Yoell struck him with an unmarked police car is pending.
