CARAL is deeply saddened by the death of Susan Yoachum, the San Francisco Chronicle's political editor.Susan died on June 22, at age 43, of breast cancer.San Francisco's flags flew at half-mast in her honor.Susan spoke at a CARAL reception in the Spring of 1997 about how the media affects the public's view of the Choice issue.Susan believed that she and other journalists had a responsibility to speak and write in a way that refused to concede to anti-choice propaganda.Susan believed that by talking about Choice we can make a difference.
