El SEGUNDO, Calif. - October 5, 2000, DATE : [ 10/05/2000 ] Junroo NetCommunications Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Alice Yip as Director of Operations, effective today, October 5, 2000.
Ms. Yip brings to Junroo her experience in international operations, capacity planning and management from her tenure at oCen Communications.
Most recently in her position as Director of Operations, Ms. Yip supervised a technical team of 20+ engineers, technicians, and NOC staff in the United States. Ms. Yip's experience includes the building and managing of a 24x7 data center to support pre-paid and carrier service traffic. Ms. Yip also worked with vendors to resolve bugs and enhance features.
Furthermore, Ms. Yip has built and enforced global NOC procedures for oCen's three network operation centers. She developed metrics to measure network quality, analyze performance and implement improvements to the network, while in charge of provisioning and installing circuits and equipment.
Additionally, Ms. Yip has a working knowledge of nextgen, traditional voice switches and protocols, including SS7, ISDN, H.323, SIP, etc.
Prior to oCen Communications, Ms. Yip worked in numerous engineering positions in MediaOne Corporation (presently part of AT&T Broadband), GTE Corporation (now known as Verizon), Intel Corporation, and Advanced Micro Devices.
Ms Yip holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BA in Business at UCLA. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and proficient in Japanese.
