Mr. Zhang Yichen was appointed as the Managing Director of the Company on 25 November 2002.

Blue-chip conglomerate CITIC Pacific has taken on board Mr. Zhang Yichen , the former Managing Director of international investment bank Merrill Lynch , as president of its telecommunication unit , CITIC Communications.The move was seen as the conglomerate's determination to be a major player in the telecommunication business.CITIC Pacific recently announced making a US$390-million investment in mainland China's telecom industry.
