The commission enforces ethics , lobbying and campaign finance laws.Its nine members are appointed by the governor , legislative leaders , the attorney general , secretary of state and chief justice of the Kansas Supreme Court.

Yewell replaces Diane Gaede , of Manhattan , whose term expired in January.
