Susan Yeung, How Wah
A Music Graduate from LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore, Susan was awarded Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music by Kingston University (England).Trained in ballet since young, she pursued professional dance training from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and obtained Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) majoring in Modern Dance in 2000.She was awarded City Contemporary Dance Prize in 2001.
Apart from school productions, she also performed with several independent companies in Hong Kong, namely E-Side Modern Dance Company, Dance Home, Y-Space Dance Company and South Asli Dance Workshop.Her choreography includes product launch event and Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival 2001.She worked with Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) for the Choreography of "Music Appreciation" program presented by TVB Jade Hong Kong in 2001.
Upon joining Ecnad Project Ltd (Singapore) in March 2002, she has performed in "Missing in Tall Pillars" for both Site-Specific version (Singapore Art Festival 2002) and stage version, "Sheep"(2003), Arts Education Program -"Tales from the Giant Blanket" and her choreography "Struggling…" for March Spin (2003).
She was also the instructor of the evening classes at Ecnad Project Ltd from September 2002 to March 2003.IN April 2003, she turned freelance and continued working with various groups and independent artists in Singapore, such as Ah Hock and PengYu and The Arts Fission Company.
Being one of the dance instructors of People's Association (Singapore) and Dance Atelier, She conducts modern/contemporary dance, children and adult ballet classes at Ecnad Project Ltd, Frontier Danceland, Substation, community centre and secondary schools in Singapore at the moment.She also teaches jazz, hip hop and creative movement at different primary and secondary schools.In May 2003, she appeared as the External Examiner for Dance School of Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts (Singapore).
