    Dr. Serena Yang graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Certificate in Bioengineering.She received her M.D. degree from Emory University School of Medicine.She completed her pediatrics residency and academic general pediatrics fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.During her fellowship, she obtained an M.P.H. in international and family health at the University of Texas-Houston School of Public Health.As a faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine from 2004-07, she was the recipient of an NIH K12 Mentored Clinical Investigator Award, which funded her clinical research training and projects investigating access to care barriers for vulnerable pediatric populations.She now joins UCSF-Fresno as full-time faculty in the Department of Pediatrics.Dr. Yang's academic interests include NICU hospital to home transition and follow up, access to care, care of the underserved, international health, medical education, and mentoring others in their research and career pursuits.
