Shang Xiutang, vice president of CSA, said that 120 doping tests including 90 urine samples and 30 random blood tests among 439 swimmers would be conducted in the City Games, which will openhere Saturday evening.
"We are determined to eradicate drug cheats in swimming and prove that Chinese swimmers can make big splashes fair and square," Shang said.
At the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain last July, China collected three gold and three bronze medals.
Shang added that the CSA will continue to adopt its four-year ban to dope offenders though FINA, world governing body of the sport, reduced it to two years in late September which made formerOlympic champion Claudia Poll of Costa Rica the first prominent swimmer to benefit from the new rule.
