What Fretilin failed to disclose in its release was that the offences committed by two parties, Rai los and Antonio 5-5, were caused when both men were engaged to excise a civilian militia on May 8, 2006, allegedly on orders of the now disgraced former Fretilin Prime Minister, Mari Alkatiri and the sentenced (standing in appeal) Fretilin Vice-President and former Minister of Interior Lobato.

Antonio 5-5, who faces similar charges to Rai los, continues to move freely as a Fretilin operative and was most recently intercepted on April 28, 2007 by the ISF in the vicinity of Urahou, Ermera, en-route to a Fretilin rally.He was in convoy travelling with another vehicle that contained a senior Fretilin Government Official, The Minister of Justice, Dominggos Sarmento.
A search of Antonio 5-5s vehicle, by the ISF, unearthed one handmade pistol, five rounds of ammunition, two knives, three slingshots, eight darts and over US$5600 in cash bundles labelled with names and addresses of Villagers from the Suco area.
