    Jean-Paul started playing the flute at the age of 10.After completing his academic studies, he moved to London in 1979 where he studied the flute with James Dower and George Crozier.Intervening years have seen performances throughout the world.

    During his early years as a musician, Jean-Paul became a very active and successful athlete representing England on numerous occasions.It was with his athletic 'hat' on that he became aware of the importance within athletics of 'The Mind' and was intoduced to sports psychologists and the processes of internal focus and goal setting.

    Working with a young and dynamic specialist woodwind and brass company gave Jean-Paul the freedom to meet and speak with performing musicians from around the world and it was here that he became aware of the self limiting factor which was imbedded within the majority of musicians - 'The Mind'.

    Jean-Paul graduated from the London College of Clinical Hypnosis in 1998 where he trained in psycology and Neuro linguistic programming combined with advanced studies.The function and working of the brain and autonomic nervous system continues to be a major influence of study for his goal directed therapy and performance enhancement.

    During his popular masterclasses he engages the audience through a series of mental exercises and explains various techniques to counter negative thoughts and nervous tension during the pre-performance, performance and post-performance phases of the musical cycle.

    Jean-Paul works extensively with musicians to re-focus and goal orientate their personal directions.He is a performance clinician for Getzen/Edwards brass and for Trevor J. James & Co.He became a director of Worldwind Music Ltd in 1997 and sits on the UK Music Industry Education Committee as well as being an Associate of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and a member of the Institute of Directors.
