Peter is an experienced director and strategic manager of businesses whose expertise and experience spans both the management of change and of driving his companies towards long-term sustainable growth.He possesses experience in handling a variety of corporate finance transactions including, flotations, public to private exercises, acquisitions, mergers and disposals and venture capital investment management.

He was educated at Educated at Liverpool College of Commerce (now Liverpool John Moores University) and IMD Lausanne.

Non-Executive-Director Peter Woodall joined the Board of Finance Wales following his retirement from a successful spell as Chief Executive Officer of Hazlewood Foods Plc, a major supplier of processed foods to all major UK and European supermarket groups.As a main board director of Greencore Group plc, he oversaw the acquisition of Hazlewood, an £800 million turnover group, and its subsequent integration into Greencore.

Following its acquisition by Greencore, Peter Woodall was appointed as Chief Executive of Hazlewood Foods with a mandate to achieve the key objectives of consolidating its convenience foods businesses and managing the difficult period post-acquisition, when considerable turmoil would be engendered by the disposal and/or closure of a significant number of non-core businesses.Having now achieved the majority of those objectives and having regard to the requirement to move towards a single unified organisation structure, Peter has expressed the view that he would like to step down from his current role and to devote his remaining time with the company to drive forward the development potential of the Pizza category.

Over the last eighteen months Greencore has taken steps to strengthen the management teams within each of its categories.The Pizza category has been the latest category to receive major investment and, having successfully completed the project to transfer production from Bedford to the new facility at Deeside, Angus Raynard is handing over to Peter Woodall for the next stage of Pizza,s development.
