    Born in Winston Salem, N.C. to Basil and Mayme Woodall on January 15, 1922, he moved to Richmond in 1959.He was a member of First Baptist Church.He had a long, colorful career as a supervisor of Public Welfare and parole officer for the State of Virginia, as well as the assistant director of the Department of Professional and Occupational Registration.He attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force, training pilots to fly B-25s during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945.An avid flyer, he loved the outdoors and was an accomplished gardener.He is survived by his lovely bride, Margie Barker Woodall; daughter, Marcy W. Hagen; and two sons, George W. Woodall Jr. and Michael G. Woodall; also four grandchildren; and his last surviving brother, Robert Lee Woodall.He was cremated by the Cremation Society of Virginia.A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the First Baptist Church.
