Intelligent Building Systems was formed in 1990 by Tommy Wood to develop the next generation of wall panel design software.Drawing on Tommy's extensive experience in the wall panel industry, he has provided this industry a comprehensive wall panel package, IntelliBuildâ„¢, which has grown and developed over the last 17 years, keeping up with the commercial and residential changing codes and architectural "outside the box" designs.

Currently a part of the Illinois Tool Works (ITW) Building Components Group, IBS continues its commitment to the wall panel industry and will carry on the legacy of its founder, Tommy Wood, by continuing to develop software and equipment that will help component manufacturers streamline their process and become more efficient.

Tommy Wood, President of Intelligent Business Systems, was the design manager for a component factory where he developed and perfected several of the procedures in the manufacture of wall panels.He first founded ComSoft Inc. to develop the design software for wall panels, which is currently used around the world.He then founded Basic Automation Inc. to develop an equipment solution for the manufacturing of wall panels.
