"Remarkably, there was only minor damage (to the Denney vehicle)," Pulaski Sheriff Todd Wood said.

Mr. Denney and a passenger in his vehicle whose name was not available at press time, both of whom were uninjured, remained in their vehicle, and were able to drive away from the scene once the other vehicles were cleared away, Wood said.

According to Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood, the investigation began on July 30 when staff at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital expressed concerns over the health of two young twins who had been brought into the hospital for treatment.

The children, now a little over six months old, were around three and a half months old at the time.

"They (hospital doctors and staff) reported that the children had failed to thrive," Wood said.
    ...
Wood said both children remain in protective custody, and he said their health has improved considerably.

"I am glad to report that all medical reports at this time have been very positive," Wood said.

Kimbler was not arrested before her case was turned over to the Pulaski County grand jury this month, and Wood said a warrant has been issued for arrest.
    ...
"We do not have a positive address right now on Ms. Kimbler," Wood said.

The accident, which occurred at 11:01 a.m. on Hickory Nut Road in Nancy, was between a tractor and a tanker truck, according to Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood.

Wood said at the time of the accident Brian K. Martin, 29, Liberty, Ky., was operating a 1989 Ford L 9000 tanker east on Hickory Nut Road when Harness, who was operating a 2006 John Deere Tractor with an 18-foot rake on the back, attempted to pull out of a side road, pulling in front of the tanker truck.
    ...
"With the tanker truck loaded with eight-and-a-half tons (of feed)," said Wood, "it made a sudden stop very hard."

The sheriff also said the way the sun was shining onto the tanker truck's windshield made reaction time shorter.

Wood said following the accident, Martin stated he had very little reaction time, as it seemed the tractor just appeared in front of him.

Meanwhile, Wood said Harness was conscious at the scene of the accident and talked to them about what happened.
    ...
"Harness stated he did look for oncoming traffic and simply did not see anything coming," said Wood, noting the area he pulled out from was wooded, with tree limbs hanging out over the road, making the view difficult.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood said they are still looking into the possibility that alcohol was involved.

"We believe evidence at the scene indicates alcohol was a factor in the accident," said Wood.

Wood, however, said they didn't have results of toxicology reports yet.

He said since Creech was taken to a hospital out of state, records for the toxicology reports will have to be subpoenaed before the department will know the results of any blood test which was performed on Creech.Wood said he hopes the process will be a fairly quick one.

"This was just a case where the mother refused to put the effort to take care of a residence to keep it clean enough to let her children live and sleep and eat in a home," said Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood.

Police say their investigation got on the fast track when school officials called them saying there were some children coming to school hungry.

A home visit from the school turned into a call to police and officers on the scene say they couldn't believe humans could live in such a place.

"Odor in the house.Every room you had to step over something in the process of stepping over some items, you had to avoid stepping over a plate of food or left over food," said Sheriff Wood.
