"We've been doing this for (over) 20 years," said Richard "Woody" Wood, the coordinator for the Mason-Dixon chapter of ABATE, who says that the group is dedicated to providing a good holiday season to the children of Adams County.
Although seemingly unconventional, ABATE's methods for fund raising seem to work. One of their biggest events is a guest bartender and auction event, hosted by Dead Dog Saloon in Bonneauville.During the evening, members of ABATE tend bar and donate their tips to the Christmas for Kids program.Change for drink purchases goes directly to the fund, as well - meaning that if you pay for one drink with a $20 bill, you're not getting any change back.
An auction is also held the night of the guest bartender event.

"One hundred percent of our profits goes to the kids," said Wood.
