    Rebecca Wood ( b.1975 ) began the oboe at seven and by 1992 was a finalist in the BBC Young Musician and Principal Oboist of the National Youth Orchestra.She was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where she studied with David Theodore , Celia Nicklin and Douglas Boyd.During her third year , Rebecca won a scholarship to study at the Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong where Anthony Camden ( formerly of the LSO ) taught her.She won the Standard Chartered Bank Prize for Outstanding Performance , and the annual concerto competition , performing the Krommer with the Hong Kong Philharmonic.Rebecca then completed the Post-Graduate Orchestral Training Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama ( studying with Neil Black and Richard Simpson ) with assistance from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.

    Rebecca was a finalist in the Royal Over-Seas League competition , and a semi-finalist in both the Shell/LSO and the Isle of Wight International competitions.Rebecca is a busy freelance musician playing with orchestras such as the Philharmonia of the Nations , the Spoleto Festival , and recently as guest Principal with the BBC Philharmonic.
