Wood, who has been teaching for 18 years, is currently a Spanish teacher and foreign language department head at Walker Valley High School.She has previously been an English/Spanish teacher at Trewhitt Junior High.She is a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and has been listed in the "Who's Who" for educators.She also serves as advisor for the National Honor Society at Walker Valley.

Moab, UT, June 29, 2000, Rebecca Wood, author of The Splendid Grain, winner of the James Beard and Julia Childs awards, will teach a cooking class on an August whitewater trip through Cataract Canyon on the Colorado River in Utah.

Wood is an advisor to Tag-A-Long Expeditions adding her expertise to the backcountry menus offered on their trips.This is the first time that she will teach guests how to prepare gourmet meals in a wilderness setting.
