Westwood Farms Country Culinary Series Classes are taught by area chefs and food professionals.The Country Harvest Adventure classes are exclusively taught by owners Kathy and Mike Wood who have more than 30 years combined experience in the food industry.
Mike and Kathy WoodKathy's career began with the development of a secondary level food service program.Under her direction, her high school students operated a successful catering business.This exemplary program received numerous awards and national recognition.Kathy was named the Colorado Vocational Teacher of the Year and was a 1996 National Home Economics Teacher finalist.Her education includes a B.S. degree in Home Economics and Food Service as well as culinary training at Tante Maries of San Francisco and the Cordon Bleú of Paris.
Mike developed his food and beverage experience at the Adolph Coors Co. where he directed the development of the Taste of the West from Coors cookbook and a national program promoting beer as a recipe ingredient.During an apprenticeship with Master Chef Aura Wiess, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, Mike began to expand his culinary skills.
Their combined love of good food and entertaining lead Kathy and Mike to open Denver's Catering and the Denver Dough Bakery in 1987.
