Tony is a professional architect by training.He obtained his Architectural Training in the University of HK, graduating with Honours degree in B.A. (Architectural Studies) and with Distinction in the B. Arch. degree.He subsequently obtained his MBA in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.He is a Fellow of the HKIA, and is a registered architect and an Authorized Person in Hong Kong.
He started working as an Architect, and subsequently switched to Facilities Management in 1990 when he joined The Chase Manhattan Bank.He is currently Vice President and Head of Facilities Services for the Asia Pacific Region for JPMorgan Chase Bank (formed from the various mergers of The Chase Manhattan Bank, JP Morgan, Jardine Fleming, Chemical Bank, Manufacture Hanover…etc over the last 10 years).The portfolio under his management covers 16 countries/area all over Asia from Japan to Pakistan to Australia/New Zealand.This represents a portfolio of over 100 locations, about 2 million square feet of prime office space, and a total annual occupancy costs of about US$125Million.His responsibility covers Design and Construction, Property Management, and Engineering Management.He also forms part of the Regional Team providing Client Management Services and Strategic Premises Solutions to JPMorgan Chase Bank in the Region.
Tony had been active in the field of Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management for the last ten years.He was the Founding Chapter Chairman of the IDRC Asia Pacific Chapter in 1993/94.He was also one of the earliest members of the IFMA HK Chapter in 1993.He had delivered talks and lectures in many facilities management seminars, conferences, and universities in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.The topics ranged from general Facilities Management to special topics such as Culture, Mergers, Space Planning...etc and their impact on Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management.
Tony is also active in the field of Architecture, in particular in organization such as HKIA (Hong Kong Institute of Architects), UIA (International Union of Architects), CAA (Commonwealth Association of Architects), and ARCASIA (Architects Council of Asia).He has been on and off Council Members, Board of Overseas Affairs Chairman, and numerous Committee Chairman for the HKIA since 1991.He had represented HKIA to attend many international conferences and work programmes.He is currently representing HKIA in the UIA Professional Practice Commission.He is also the Asia Regional Vice-President Alternate for the CAA.
