Dr. Wong was born in Vancouver, B.C.
He obtained his B.Sc. in biochemistry from McGill University, and received his doctorate from the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at U.B.C., where he studied the fundamental mechanisms of gene expression that lead to disease.
Dr. Wong is a co-founder and executive director at Genetrack Biolabs, Canada's largest commercial DNA testing facility by volume, and is a co-founder and president of Healthcord Cryogenics, one of the largest accredited cord blood stem cell processing facilities in Canada, among other ventures.
In his spare time, Dr. Wong is an industry advisor to the U.B.C. Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program and is a past director of the ACCP, where he�continues to spearhead the ACCP 'glass ceiling' initiative.
