He focuses his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, business reorganizations, workouts, and commercial litigation.
His diverse insolvency and bankruptcy practice has involved the representation of secured and unsecured creditors, creditors' committees, debtors, trustees, lessors, and purchasers of stock or assets of insolvent entities.
He has represented VMS Realty in its $9 billion out of court workout and HA-LO Industries, Inc. in its Chapter 11 case.
His creditors committee representations have included UNR Industries, Inc., the first of the asbestos disease driven bankruptcy cases.
He represented an unofficial committee of thousands of claimants in the Chapter 11 case involving pharmaceutical giant A.H. Robins, a case impelled by claims arising from the sale of the birth control device known as the Dalkon Shield.
A graduate of Princeton University (1970), he received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1974.
