  Martin Wirsing has been full professor and chair for Computer Science since 1985, first at the University of Passau and then, since 1992, at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich where he is also the head of the research group on Programming and Software Technology.Martin Wirsing is the editor of more than 15 books and has published more than 150 scientific papers.His current research interests comprise software engineering for distributed mobile systems and for hypermedia applications, object-oriented software development based on formal methods, design and semantics of concurrent Java programs.Martin Wirsing is member of the scientific committees of INRIA France, LORIA (Nancy, France), and the Institute of Informatics of Hanoi (Vietnam).He is member of the editorial board of several scientific journals and book series including Theoretical Computer Science and Journal of Computer Science and Technology.

  Martin Wirsing is a Full Professor and Chair for Computer Science at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, München, Germany, where he is also leading the research group on Programming and Software Technology.Currently he is leader of projects on the specification of concurrent object-oriented systems, software engineering for distributed systems, design and implementation of electronic product catalogs, and constraint functional programming. Martin Wirsing is editor of more than 10 books and has published more than 120 scientific papers in the areas of program transformation and program development, semantics of programming languages, software technology, formal specification, algebraic specification languages, and mathematical logic.
