Robert Winter, Dell
Robert Winter is a Technology Strategist responsible for networking architecture in the Dell Office of the CTO and is responsible for developing and driving Dell's Enterprise communication strategy which encompasses networking, protocols, and I/O virtualization.
Robert joined Dell in 2002 after working at companies such as Lockheed, Motorola, Interphase and Wind River Systems.
He was founder and CEO of XACT, Inc., a networking startup in Dallas that was acquired by Wind River Systems in 1999.
Robert came to Dell to provide architectural guidance for Dell's PowerConnectâ„¢ switch group and later transitioned into the Office of the CTO.
In his career, Robert has created embedded operating systems, designed and implemented protocol stacks, implemented various IEEE and IETF protocol specifications and delivered a number of embedded networking switches and appliances to the market.
He has held Director, Vice President, CTO and CEO roles.
Robert has a BSc degree and graduate work in Physics and Mathematics from Texas A&M.
