(ems), the leading provider of technology solutions to enhance consumer demand visibility, today announced that software veteran Andy Winans will join the company as executive vice president of sales and marketing to drive ems's launch of new software products and technology services.
ems applications are designed to help retailers and their suppliers better understand, predict, and react to consumer demand by improving their merchandising and replenishment efficiencies, supply chain collaboration efforts, and profit margin performance.
Winans comes to ems with more than 18 years experience in developing and directing product sales and marketing functions for such technology firms as NCR Corporation, Tandem Computers, and Microstrategy, Inc.He will work with ems to strengthen the organizations' sales and marketing channels and capitalize on the strategic opportunities for demand-based applications within the retail and CPG manufacturing space.

ems is launching its new software, called DemandView(TM) and DemandCast(TM).It will be available to retailers - food, convenience, wholesale clubs, mass and drug - and their CPG suppliers for the first time, via a licensed or hosted pricing model.The applications are built via an open and flexible architecture, which can be quickly deployed in customer-specific business and computing environments today as well as into the future.This allows for quick implementation -- within a 6-8 week timeframe for a fast return on investment.
