    The Walnut Club's head chef Nick Wilson is to set to make a show of himself at this year's Great Peak District Fair and Food Festival. Nick is scheduled to be doing a cooking demonstration at the regional show on Sunday 29th October between 11am and 12noon showing how he turns local ingredients into a culinary masterpiece.

    Heavily influenced from his years working as head chef in the kitchens of Jean Christophe Novelli's Michelin starred restaurants, Nicks talent and flair is usually confined to the club's kitchen but on October 29th Nick will be at the Pavilion Gardens & The Dome, Buxton impressing the crowd with what he does best and no doubt giving away a few expert hints and tips.

    Nicholas Wilson, who was chef at three Novelli establishments for a combined spell of more than seven years, has been appointed as head chef of Moyles hotel and restaurant, bringing all the catering under his direction.

    Nick, 35, was the sous chef at Maison Novelli (1 Star Michelin), then continued his association with Novelli, as head chef at Novelli W8 (Red ‘M' Michelin), and head chef at Les Saveurs in Mayfair (1 Star Michelin).

    Wilson joins Moyles from award-winning and Michelin-rated The Walnut Club Restaurant in Hathersage on the outskirts of Sheffield, where he also ran the successful outside catering venture.

    Chefs who have won coveted Michelin stars are as rare as truffles. But one of them, Nick Wilson has recently been appointed head chef at Moyles hotel and restaurant, and his mission is to take its food to new heights, transforming the restaurant into one of Yorkshire's finest.

    Nick, 35, began his career in 1990 at Scotland's famous golfing hotel Gleneagles before transferring to the Sharrow Bay Hotel in Lake District, another top-class establishent.

    From there he joined the team at London's iconic Four Seasons Hotel in 1993, which had one Michelin star and five AA Rosettes.

    It was there Nick, who is originally from Worksop, met the notorious Novelli, star of ITV1's Hell's Kitchen, who took up the role of head chef.

    They worked together for seven years as Novelli took his protege with him as his sous chef when he opened Maison Novelli in Farringdon, London, in 1996. Later Nick took control at Novelli W8 in Notting Hill and was then head chef at Les Saveurs.
