Mike Wilson has joined the FirmMarch 3, 2006Mike Wilson joined Costello, Porter, Hill, Heisterkamp, Bushnell & Carpenter, LLP on March 1, 2006, after spending nearly twenty years in a plaintiff's civil litigation practice.This litigation experience qualified Mike for Board Certification in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy on April 11, 2000.Mike was born and raised in eastern South Dakota.He graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in economics in 1983.In 1986, he graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law.After graduation, Mike worked as a law clerk for the Circuit Court in Mitchell, South Dakota, before joining the law firm of Morgan, Theeler, Cogley & Padrnos in 1987.In 1992, Mike moved his family to the Black Hills where he made his home and maintained an active plaintiff's practice.Mike is a Sustaining Member of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers' Association, and a member of the American Trial Lawyers' Association.He served as Chairman of the South Dakota Civil Pattern Jury Instruction Committee for several years.Mike is a former member of the South Dakota House of Representatives and has served on the South Dakota Corrections Commission and the Governor's Task Force on Education.For the last decade, Mike has served as State Advocate for the South Dakota Knights of Columbus.He has also been active in many community organizations, and has managed more than a dozen baseball and softball teams at Harney Little League.Mike and his wife Paula have six children.
