    Through her knack for relating to teachers, Wilson-Hyde has transformed Gulliver's relationship with technology, from developing a one-to-one training model to engage staff with new technologies to rolling out an online communication system.One area where Wilson-Hyde's training has paid off is with Gulliver's first grade teachers, who are using laptops and Webcams to document student reading fluency.

    Wilson-Hyde will be profiled in detail in a feature article in Technology & Learning's December Awards Issue.She also will receive a spot on the magazine's Advisory Board; a one-year subscription to the magazine; and a personalized award certificate.

    Cynthia Wilson-Hyde is the Technology Integrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels for Gulliver Schools in Miami, Florida.Currently a doctoral candidate at Nova Southeastern University in the concentration of Instructional Technology and Distance Learning, Cynthia specializes in the development of curricula and trainings to help teachers effectively utilize technology in the classroom and encourage student learning through innovative applications of everyday technology.

    In addition to her work to bring technology into the classroom, Cynthia has been active as a presenter at recent national educational conferences, providing information to audiences on internet safety, and using the power of the Internet for evaluation and data collection.Cynthia also has extensive experience in student service-learning and critical thinking programs.She has served as a Coach and Evaluator for the Future Problem Solving Program, a program that teaches students a critical thinking methodology and calls upon them to apply it to challenges set 25 years in the future.She has also served as a Coach for the Community Problem Solving Program, a program that engages students in applying critical thinking methods to challenges facing their local community, and led a team to a first place finish at the international level.Her expertise in service-learning as a teaching tool has led her to serve as a workshop trainer at the Massachusetts School Age Coalition Conference and the National Service-Learning Conference.

    A long-time volunteer in the Dade County Public Schools, Cynthia has also served as member of the School Accreditation Committee review team and a member of the Educational Excellence School Advisory Committee (EESAC) at Southwest Miami High School, her alma matter.
