Like Flournoy, Willie Willis, 43, said he was interviewing possible employers the way they would interview him.
"I'm trying to see what's really going on, because Longview has been dead for a while," Willis said.
A longtime maintenance worker for Pine Tree Independent School District, Willis said he was looking for an employer who could offer him as much as he could offer the company.
"When you know you're better than what you're doing, you want to do better," Willis said.
Willis said he chose to attend the job fair because he was ready for a new job , one that would pay more and improve his way of life.
"They say the job market has improved," Willis said.
