    Tom Willis, court supervisor for the 19th Judicial Circuit - which includes Martin, St, Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee counties - said checking employees for weapons is a concern at all courthouses.

    "It's a safety not only for the clerks but ... for all the users of the courthouse and for the employees," Willis said.

    The coordinator position carries with it a base salary of $42,690, according to Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court Administrator Tom Willis.

    Willis said he is concerned he might lose a few of the three deputy court administrators that work for him.The new budget eliminates 13 deputy court administrators statewide.Deputy court administrators also have a base salary of $42,690.
