Summerville receiver Marquel Willis signed to play for The Citadel.

The Citadel coaches have indicated that Willis will have the opportunity to earn a spot among the Bulldogs' featured receivers next season.He has been a starter on the Green Wave squad for the past two years.In his senior season, he earned the team's Most Hustle award and was named to the All-lowcountry team.He plans to major in business accounting.

"I think they are doing what they need to do to be a winning program and their academics played a big part in my decision," he said."They told me if I come in and do what I need to do then I could earn a spot, that there was an opening there."

Having played for two years now in an offense with the player many consider to be the best receiver in the state, Willis has been overlooked by some, but McKissick says he has great talent.

"Marquel was a big part of the success we had this year," McKissick said.
