exulted Jeff Willis, manager of the Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse on the U.S. 11E Bypass, saying the new store's sales in December exceeded the company's projections.

Willis said the "sale of tools was marvelous," sales of small appliances "went through the roof," and the sale of Christmas-related items also was strong.He added, "We've been even busier after Christmas."

Asked about prospects for the new year, Willis said, "We're looking forward to 2002," feeling that there are still many potential customers who are not yet acquainted with the big store and what it offers.
