Lowe's new Super Store , which will open sometime in April , is hiring more than 100 new employees , according to Jeff Willis , who will be general manager of the new store off the U.S. 11E Bypass in east Greeneville.

Lowe's will be interviewing job applicants at the Holiday Inn here from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today , Friday and Saturday.

Willis , now manages the present Lowe's store in Greeneville , which will close when the new store opens.

He said the Super Store will be the nicest and biggest type of store operated by Lowe's.

The store will have 150 , 000 square feet , and parking spaces for 700 vehicles.In comparison , Willis said , the present Lowe's store is smaller than what will be a 30 , 000-square-foot garden center at the new store.

He said the Lowe's Super Store will have more than 200 employees , compared with fewer than 100 working at the present store.

Construction of the big new store , which was done by James R. Vannoy & Sons , of Anderson , S.C. , is virtually complete , Willis said , except for some finishing touches.

He said that next week store employees will begin setting up rows of shelves in what is now a vast , empty interior.
