Jeff Willis, deputy director of the CRMC, said after the 30-day period where the public can voice concern the application goes before the council, which does its own investigations and site visits.Willis said even if there are no objections before the project makes it to a council meeting it is guaranteed approval.The public is allowed to speak at these meetings and the council able to make decisions based on testimony and their own findings.
"It can have no complaints whatsoever and have it scheduled before the council and the whole universe come out against it," he said.
Willis said after the 30-day period depending on the application and information CRMC staff finds out the process can take as long as another month before final approval.
